The Ultimate Confidence Boost

“Self esteem is a fragile thing. It takes a LOT for us to truly feel good about ourselves, but it doesn’t take much to shoot that good feeling down.

Over and over, I have seen boudoir give women the self esteem boost they deserve. I once had a client cry when she saw her pictures because she said she never realized she could be so pretty. Another client told me she hates every picture that is taken of her because she is self-conscious of her smile, but she loved her smile in every image I have of her.

That’s the beauty of boudoir photography. It’s something you do for yourself, and the side effect is a self esteem boost that lasts for years. Whenever you’re feeling down, pull out the images from your photo session, take a deep breath, and smile because you are that beautiful.”

– Our Photographer, Jonna Royer

“I’ve never liked my body, until these pictures…”

While boudoir photography has many definitions, at heart it is one of the most creative and expressive forms of photography. It captures the subject’s intimate emotions and mood, focusing on their free spirit, flirtation, shyness, joy, sensuality, or playfulness – all the things that truly make a woman beautiful. It is a peek into their innermost self without revealing too much, physically or emotionally.

[/lvca_panel][lvca_panel panel_title=”Do I have to be naked?”]

Absolutely not! The idea of the shoot is to feel beautiful, sexy, and confident. In fact, we prefer boudoir photography that’s more suggestive than revealing.

We only do nudity if our clients request it. Because of this, most of our photography is done as “implied nudes” where even though you are naked, nothing is really revealed, because it’s covered by careful positioning of your body, hands, hair or bed sheets.

[/lvca_panel][lvca_panel panel_title=”How much does it cost?”]

There are many factors that determine the cost of your boudoir experience with Shy Vixen, including whether your session takes place in the studio or on location, and which collection of finished images you choose. The retainer to reserve your session date and time in the studio is $300. This down payment is then credited toward the purchase of your collection.

[/lvca_panel][lvca_panel panel_title=”What if I’m really nervous?”]

You aren’t alone! A lot of people are nervous about their first boudoir shoot. You’ll have plenty of time to relax as you meet with photographer Jonna Royer before your session to talk about background options, outfit changes and more. This often helps calm nerves, because clients know exactly what to expect before we start snapping pictures.

Once the session beings, you’ll probably wonder why you were so nervous in the first place. Doing boudoir is a ton of fun, and it isn’t long before clients find their groove. We’ll be with you every step of the way, guiding you through different poses and making sure your pictures turn out beautifully.

[/lvca_panel][lvca_panel panel_title=”What if I don’t have the right figure?”]

There’s no such thing! Boudoir photography is empowering, and the results are beautiful no matter what shape or size you may be. It highlights your favorite features, whether they’re obvious like a dazzling smile or great cleavage, or under wraps like your hips or the curve at the small of your back. The goal is not to expose, but to tantalize through suggestive clothing, creative props, and artistic lighting.

[/lvca_panel][lvca_panel panel_title=”What if I don’t know what outfits to bring or how to pose?”]

Don’t worry! Not only do we go over this at your pre-session consultation, it’s also in our Essential Session Planner, which you can get by signing up via the link at the top of this page. Both will help you determine what type of clothing or costumes to bring, plus we have plenty of props and accessories on hand – like blankets, sheer drapes, oversized sweaters, and more – at each photo shoot. At Shy Vixen, we’re huge fans of costumes and having fun with our boudoir sessions, so don’t be afraid to think outside the box! It doesn’t always have to be lingerie to be sexy, although if you want to keep it traditional, that’s great too!

As for posing, instructions are all part of the session. We’ll guide you through the movements, helping you highlight your favorite features so you’re sure to love the results.

[/lvca_panel][lvca_panel panel_title=”Will you post my photos on the internet?”]

That’s entirely up to you. Your privacy is our highest concern. Every client on Shy Vixen’s social media or website has given written permission to post their images, but if you prefer not to have your photos shared with others, we completely understand.

If you want to share your results, just let us know! We’ll  be thrilled to post them so other clients can get ideas for their own sessions and see what a great experience it can be.

[/lvca_panel][lvca_panel panel_title=”Do you only shoot females?”]

There are a lot of boudoir photography studios that that will only work with female clients. Shy Vixen is not one of them. We think men can enjoy a boudoir session just as much as women, whether solo or as a part of a couple.

Couples sessions create such a special intimate portrait of two people, and we’re honored to be able to capture those images. If you’re interested in scheduling a couples boudoir session with us, we’d love to hear from you.
